With an inclination for the performing arts, Adhiraj Chakrabarti moved from Kolkata to Mumbai to pursue his dreams. Winning the title of Grasim Best Smile 2007 was just a stepping stone to an illustrious career in modelling. He made his ramp debut at the Lakmé Fashion Week and has not looked back since. Having walked for every major designer in the country, he treaded international waters with Christian Dior, Givenchy and Lacoste. With New York as his current base, his Facebook page shows him shifting gears with working behind the camera as a photographer now.
Manu Bora divides his time between Paris and Milan and between being a model and a surgeon. That’s right! The orthopaedic surgeon made his foray into the world of modelling while on a six-month break from his medical studies. The incredibly hot doctor switches between the ramp and operating table with equal panache as is apparent from his work. He’s been on the cover of GQ, Vogue and Wallpaper along with modelling for Corneliani, Paul Smith, Gucci and Calvin Klein. Whew!
Tall, dishy and with an effortless sense of humour, Tony Luke is touted as one of the most bankable models in the country. What with his strong pose and pace, dark-chocolate skin and sculpted physique, the man has an exclusive contract with Krizia Uomo, Italy and a portfolio that boasts walking for Beijing Fashion Week, Milan Fashion Week, Versace Sports and Y-3 in Shanghai. Back home, the Kerala-based model has worked for brands like Lifestyle, Shoppers Stop, Indigo Nation, Oxemberg, GQ India, Bacardi and Fuel Vodka besides being on the cover of Collective.
With an English mother and Indian father, Tarun Nijjer was described by Vogue as “Burberry’s beautiful new Indian model” and rightly so! Discovered at 2012’s Reading Festival by a modelling agency, Nijjer opened and closed Burberry Prorsum’s Fall/Winter 2014 show. The English Literature student from Bristol University with his chocolate boy looks also featured in Burberry’s Autumn/Winter campaign in the iconic trench coat alongside models Cara Delevingne and Malaika Firth.
