7 ways to fold a pocket square

There’s no better time for movie geeks, the ones who love their special effects and action, than summer. There’s mind-blowing action on screen, popcorn and coke and your friends’ wise-cracking comments. It really doesn’t get better than this.

1. Straight
Wrap the pocket square in half horizontally and in half vertically making a smaller square. Wrap vertically in half again. Turn the pocket square so that it lies horizontally. Wrap in half one more time.

2. One point
Wrap the pocket square inwards half horizontally and half vertically. Rotate it so that it looks like a rhombus. Wrap in half horizontally again. Turn the pocket square over to hide the edges and wrap the corners into the middle. Adjust according to pocket size

3. The three point
Lay the pocket square out like a rhombus. Wrap horizontally forming a pyramid. Imagine each side of pyramids in three sections. Wrap the bottom third up on the left and the right. Turn the pocket square over. Wrap each side of the pocket square in half towards the middle. One can always wrap the bottom point into the middle if one likes.

4. Four point
Wrap two ends of the pocket square diagonally in such a way that you don’t hide the other end. Wrap the left part over the two points created from the previous fold. Wrap the remaining end on that to get the fourth point. Wrap each side underneath and then wrap the bottom. To get a crisper look, starch or iron your pocket square.

Position the pocket square like a diamond and fold in half. Wrap in half again. Wrap the top point down to the bottom point. Wrap the left and the right points down to the bottom point. Wrap the left, right and bottom points into the centre and adjust according to your pocket size.

7. Pyramid
Wrap the pocket square in half horizontally and then in half vertically. Position it like a rhombus. Wrap the bottom corner up to the left of the top corner. Wrap the left corner into the middle. Adjust the width according to your pocket size.
