While black trousers are slimming, white ones don’t have quite the same effect. So, ensure you pick white jeans in a tapered fit. Ankle-length ones lend themselves to most outfits, making them an ideal purchase.
If white-on-white is too much contrast for you, use white jeans to balance bright colours. When worn with a rich red sweater or a purple shirt, it only enhances the colour without making it look over the top.
If it comes down to picking either black or brown pieces to go with your white jeans, always pick brown. Black pieces (whether it is shoes, clothes or accessories) offer a stark contrast that can be visually jarring. Dusty colours such as brown and khaki, on the other hand, make the white jeans look richer.
While bright colours worn over white jeans look appropriate for day wear, when it comes to evening outfits, wear white jeans with a grey shirt. You can experiment with the intensity of grey that you opt for or layer a light-grey shirt with a charcoal-grey blazer and matching suede lace-ups.
Unlike blue jeans, white jeans are striking in themselves, so keep other aspects of your outfit, especially the footwear, fuss-free. After all, you don’t want attention to shift from the central piece of your outfit.
